VUB is an independent private university having the power and authority of providing education and training and to confer degrees, diplomas and certificates in all branches of knowledge including Business Administration, Computer Science and Information Technology and other disciplines that may be required as per need of the time. The levels of concerned education include undergraduate (Bachelor), graduate (Master) and Ph.D. programs and also under-graduate and post-graduate diplomas and certificates. VUB offers a semester of four months duration and normally a total of 12 semesters for a Bachelor’s degree and another four to six semesters for a Master’s degree in some selected disciplines.

VUB will be controlled and governed by the Bangladesh Private University Act 1992 and Amendment Act 1998. The President will be the administrative chief of Victoria University of Bangladesh and the academic chief will be the Vice-Chancellor. There will also be a Pro V.C. Treasurer, Controller of Examination, Registrar, Deans, Department Heads and other faculty members and administrative and support staff as per rules and regulations of the Private University Act.

The VUB will have branches all over Bangladesh, as well as outside of the country, for providing access to VUB educational facilities to students resident at various regions both within and outside of the country. The VUB can also collaborate with other institutions/universities within/outside of Bangladesh in its pursuits for diversified, specialized and quality education by drawing on regional expertise, talents and infrastructural facilities that already exist.
